Navy Education Command Enhances Capabilities of Coast Guard Instructor Personnel
Training on Teaching Methods, Lecture Skills, and Leadership
The Naval Education Command conducted an instructor training course for maritime police instructors at the Education Command Technical Administration School from the 15th to the 19th.
According to the Education Command, this training course was held over 40 hours for about 10 instructors from regional maritime police agencies such as Incheon and Pyeongtaek, focusing on acquiring educational theory, improving lecture skills, and cultivating instructor leadership and character.

Captain Kim Dong-yong, a class consulting instructor, said, “The maritime police are partners in protecting the nation's maritime sovereignty, and I believe that the development of the maritime police is the development of security.” He added, “I hope this training serves as an opportunity for the maritime police education, which protects the seas of the Republic of Korea together, to develop more systematically.”
Lieutenant Kim Jin-sik, in charge of training at the Incheon Maritime Police Station, said, “It was a time to learn and reflect a lot about teaching methods and leadership,” and added, “I will actively utilize what I learned during the five days of training to contribute to the development of the maritime police after returning to my duties.”

The Naval Education Command judged at the 4th Navy vs. Maritime Police meeting in 2020 that support for capacity-building education for maritime police instructors was necessary, and first established this training course in 2021, conducting it annually since then.
