National Disabled Students Sports Festival, Four-Day Finale in Ulsan

The 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival held in Ulsan this year concluded after four days of intense competition.
The Ulsan City announced that the 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival, held under the vision of "Great Ulsan Newly Created, Republic of Korea Taking a Leap Forward Again," will close on the 19th after four days of fierce contests.
A total of 3,476 participants (1,621 athletes and 1,855 officials) from 17 cities and provinces nationwide competed in 17 events.
Ulsan fielded its largest-ever delegation of 311 members (138 athletes and 173 officials) participating in 13 events. The festival was conducted safely without any accidents.
To boost the morale of the student athletes, about 400 student supporters and around 500 cheering squads composed of Ulsan city officials enthusiastically cheered. During the event, approximately 600 volunteers took care of every corner of the venues, serving as ambassadors to promote Ulsan.
On the closing day, the 19th, at 10 a.m., Chung Jin-wan, President of the Korea Paralympic Committee, is scheduled to visit Ulsan City Hall to present a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Kim Du-gyeom, expressing gratitude to Ulsan City and its citizens for leading last year's National Disabled Sports Festival and this year's National Disabled Students Sports Festival.

Mayor Kim Du-gyeom of Ulsan said, "The successful hosting of this festival is the result of joint efforts by the Office of Education, the Police Agency, district and county offices, the City Disabled Sports Association, and all Ulsan citizens."
