Seogwipo Fire Station (Chief Park Gwang-chan) announced on the 18th that it awarded the ‘Heart, Brain, Trauma Saver Certificates’ to paramedics who saved precious lives through prompt and appropriate emergency treatment for patients with cardiac arrest, acute stroke, and severe trauma on the 17th.

View original imageThe fire officers awarded the Heart Saver certificate this time are Fire Lieutenant Kim Jeong-hyun, Fire Sergeant Han Seung-tak, Oh Hwa-jun, Fire Corporal Kim Soo-kyung, Firefighter Go Hyun, Fire Sergeant Lee Jong-jin, and Firefighter Lee Se-eun.
The Heart Saver certificate is awarded to fire officers or civilians who have revived patients at risk of death due to cardiac arrest through active emergency treatment, meaning ‘a person who revived a life.’
The Heart Saver certification is granted if the patient recovers consciousness or electrocardiogram before arriving at the hospital or survives for more than 72 hours after hospital arrival.
The Heart Saver case recognized the paramedics selected this time (Fire Lieutenant Kim Jeong-hyun, Fire Sergeant Han Seung-tak, Oh Hwa-jun, Fire Corporal Kim Soo-kyung, Firefighter Go Hyun) for performing prompt and accurate cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a woman in her 50s who suffered cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Seoho-dong, Seogwipo City, at 9:41 a.m. on November 23, 2022, saving a precious life.
The fire officers awarded the Brain Saver certificate are Fire Corporal Hong Jeong-guk and Firefighter Lee Jong-hyun.
The Brain Saver certificate is awarded to personnel who promptly and accurately assess and transport acute stroke patients, contributing to minimizing aftereffects.
The Brain Saver case recognized the paramedic selected this time (Fire Corporal Hong Jeong-guk) for providing prompt and accurate emergency treatment and hospital transport to an acute stroke patient at a hotel in Sangye-dong, Seogwipo City, at 9:35 a.m. on October 30, minimizing aftereffects.
The fire officers awarded the Trauma Saver certificate are Fire Sergeant Han Jung-geun, Fire Corporal Kang Gyu-taek, and Firefighter Moon Kyung-gon.
The Trauma Saver certificate is awarded to personnel who contribute to life preservation and reduction of disability rates by providing appropriate treatment to severe trauma patients.
The Trauma Saver case recognized the paramedics selected this time (Fire Sergeant Han Jung-geun, Fire Corporal Kang Gyu-taek, Firefighter Moon Kyung-gon) for providing emergency treatment to a pedestrian traffic accident patient suspected of severe trauma in Donghong-dong, Seogwipo City, at 4:26 p.m. on November 24, 2022, contributing to life preservation and reduction of disability rates.
Park Gwang-chan, Chief of Seogwipo Fire Station, said, “I express my gratitude to the paramedics who always do their best for the safety of the residents with a strong sense of duty and prompt response,” and added, “I hope they will continue to do their best to protect the lives of the residents.”
