National Folk Museum to Host Ssireum Wrestling Competition
Memorandum of Understanding for Popularizing Ssireum between the Korea Ssireum Association and Partners
On the 17th, the National Folk Museum of Korea signed a business agreement with the Korea Ssireum Association to promote and spread traditional culture. With the joint goal of popularizing and promoting Ssireum, they will work on activating Ssireum content, establishing a research foundation, and utilizing and exchanging cultural resources to enhance public cultural enjoyment. Ssireum experience classes and Ssireum competitions will also be organized as part of seasonal customs events.

Both parties expect this cooperation to create a synergy effect in line with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's promotion plan, which designates this year as the inaugural year for the revival of K-Ssireum. Park Bo-gyun, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who attended the signing ceremony, also emphasized, "The roles of both institutions are important in fostering Ssireum as a representative K-sports brand enjoyed by the public."
