20s Man Caught by Off-Duty Police Officer for Beating with Blunt Object
A man in his 20s who fled after assaulting his brother with a blunt weapon was caught thanks to the sharp observation of an off-duty police officer.
According to Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju on the 16th, Sergeant Jo Jang-hyun happened to spot B (in his 20s), who is suspected of aggravated assault, on the street in Gwangcheon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju on the 12th.
Sergeant Jo judged that B’s appearance was similar to the suspect’s description he had memorized during his previous shift and followed him.
He continuously tracked B’s movements and reported to 112, then apprehended him jointly with the responding officers.
B is accused of repeatedly striking his brother’s face with a blunt weapon during a dispute at his residence, where his brother was hospitalized, and then fleeing the scene.
