Gyeonggi-do Launches Drug Addiction Prevention Education for Youth Including Narcotics
Gyeonggi Province is promoting 'Youth Substance Addiction Prevention Education.'
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it will conduct prevention education, recognizing the need to raise awareness about the risks and seriousness of substance addiction, including drugs and other substances, among youth, as youth drug offenders have increased by 304% over the past six years, highlighting the growing danger of drug use among adolescents.
Earlier in February, Gyeonggi Province publicly recruited organizations to carry out the youth substance addiction prevention project and selected the Gyeonggi Drug Eradication Movement Headquarters, a specialized institution addressing drug addiction issues, as the project operating organization.
This project is designed as prevention education with content that can attract the interest and attention of youth, targeting youth-related institutions such as out-of-school youth support centers, youth counseling and welfare centers, youth shelters, and related institutions like juvenile detention centers within the province.
Applications for the education program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 22nd on the Gyeonggi Drug Eradication Movement Headquarters website. The education will be conducted from August to November.
