On the 12th, Yongin City announced on the 14th that it held a strategic meeting in the mayor’s reception room with 15 members of the National Advanced Industrial Complex Development Support Task Force, sharing key agenda items from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s 2nd meeting of the New National Industrial Complex Government-wide Support Task Force, and discussing additional response measures and strategies for the city.
During the meeting, Yongin City also discussed current issues such as establishing communication channels for compensation and relocation measures for residents and companies included in the project area, and changes to the basic urban plan to create a hinterland complex in preparation for additional population inflow.
Mayor Lee Sang-il urged, “Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) has been selected as the project operator, so please move quickly to sign the agreement and begin the preliminary feasibility study as soon as possible.”
He added, “The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport showed a positive response to actively support the expansion of transportation networks such as the extension of the Gyeonggang Line and the semiconductor expressway,” and said, “The city must take a more strategic approach to devise a plan that allows the industrial complex development and transportation network expansion to proceed together.”
Yongin City is currently negotiating with LH to sign a business agreement by the end of this month or early next month.
