Namwon-si to Operate 'Let's Play with Gugak' Experience Program Until December
Namwon City in Jeollabuk-do hosted 99 students and staff from Sangmyung University Affiliated Girls' Middle School on the 11th for a themed educational trip to the ‘Let's Play with Gugak’ experience program, which continues the tradition of Pansori and teaches the history of Pansori through sound and storytelling. Participants visited the Exhibition Hall of Master An Suk-sun's Journey and experienced Pansori firsthand.
According to the city on the 12th, the ‘Let's Play with Gugak’ experience program, operated at Master An Suk-sun's Journey until December, is designed for citizens and tourists to directly learn Pansori, broaden their understanding of it, and foster pride and understanding of Namwon, the hometown of Pansori.

The Pansori experience is conducted through a special Pansori lecture by Kim Mina, director of Master An Suk-sun's Journey, allowing participants to communicate with Pansori masters, listen to diverse opinions, and actively serve as cultural ambassadors promoting traditional culture.
Recently, participation from citizens, tourists, and other interested individuals has been steadily increasing.
A city official stated, “We will operate the ‘Let's Play with Gugak’ experience program annually to provide opportunities for people to feel closer to Gugak and traditional culture. Going forward, Master An Suk-sun's Journey will play a central role in promoting Namwon, the birthplace of sound, and we plan to continuously develop various programs that Namwon citizens and tourists can enjoy together.”
Meanwhile, at the Master’s Journey, visitors can enjoy various regular performances such as the ‘Children and Youth Gugak Class’ for nurturing new talent, the ‘Honorary Sorikkun’ Pansori lectures, ‘Master and Maestro’ performances, and the ‘Master An Suk-sun’s Chunhyangga Intangible Cultural Heritage’ performance.
