On the 12th, Yongin City announced that it is carrying out river restoration work on a total of 78 projects, investing 9.158 billion KRW including national and local government funds.
Regarding the major project costs, 6.4 billion KRW was allocated for 49 projects such as Tancheon and Jeongpyeongcheon, officially surveyed by the government's Central Disaster Damage Joint Investigation Team, and about 2.7 billion KRW was spent on repairing small-scale damage areas such as damaged walking trails classified by Yongin City itself.
For Songokcheon, Yongin City first reinforced the embankment by installing natural stones, maintained the walking trails, and dredged sediment accumulated in the river.
In addition, for Geumeocheon and Mabukcheon, where embankments were washed away, the riverbanks were restored, and repair work was completed on waterfront facilities such as bicycle paths damaged in Seongbokcheon, Singalcheon, and Jigokcheon.
Yongin City has completed restoration work on 67 projects including these.
However, for 11 projects including the restoration of Dongmakcheon, which suffered the most damage, permanent restoration work is underway to safely reinforce the collapsed embankments.
