Possibility of South Korea Economic Retaliation by China... US "Will Take Stabilization Measures"
The U.S. Department of State stated that following the South Korea-U.S. summit, regarding the possibility of China imposing economic retaliation on South Korea, "We will continue to take prudent measures essential for peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and worldwide."
Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesperson for the State Department, said during a briefing on the 11th (local time) in response to a question about how the U.S. would respond to China's warnings of economic retaliation against South Korea, "We will not comment in advance on any specific measures," adding the above statement.

He said, "We will continue to cooperate with regional and global countries, including South Korea," mentioning President Yoon Suk-yeol's state visit to the U.S., and added, "You must have seen various measures and policies, including the Washington Declaration." He further stated, "We will continue such efforts."
Regarding discussions on the need to establish a trilateral cooperation system among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan to respond to China's economic retaliation, Spokesperson Patel said, "There are advantages to cooperating not only through bilateral mechanisms but also at the trilateral level on such issues."
