So-yeon Ryu and Annika Sorenstam (Sweden) will participate in this year's US Women's Open.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced on the 9th (local time) that "So-yeon Ryu and Sorenstam will compete as special invitees in the US Women's Open, held over four days starting July 6 at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, USA." The USGA specially invites players who do not have entry rights but have left significant marks on the US Women's Open and contributed to the development of women's golf, allowing them to participate in the competition.
Yoo So-yeon will participate in this year's US Women's Open as a special invitee.

Annika Sorenstam, who was specially invited along with So-yeon Ryu, is the pinnacle of women's golf that needs no introduction. She won a total of 72 victories on the LPGA Tour, including 10 major championships, and won the US Women's Open three times. Although Sorenstam retired in 2008, she has occasionally appeared in official tournaments since 2021, demonstrating her undiminished skills. This will be Sorenstam's 17th tournament appearance.
