Martial Arts, Korean Products Exhibition Held in Japan... "Increasing Interest from Local Buyers"
Increase in Exhibition Participation Scale for Improving Korea-Japan Relations
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) will hold the "2023 Tokyo K-Product Premium Consumer Goods Exhibition" at the Tokyo International Forum exhibition hall from the 10th to the 11th. This event is the first large-scale Korean product exhibition held in Japan since the two Korea-Japan summit meetings. It is an event that simply changed the name from the existing "Tokyo Korean Product Exhibition and Consultation," and this year marks its 22nd edition.
This year, 104 domestic companies recommended by seven local governments including Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, and Jeju, and selected by KITA, will participate in the event. These companies will showcase items in fields highly favored locally such as beauty, living, food, digital, and health. They will also hold consultations with 650 pre-matched Japanese distribution companies (Don Quijote, Laox, Nitori, etc.) and importers.

The scale of domestic participating companies this year increased by 21% compared to last year. The number of Japanese buyers who registered in advance also rose by 35% to 612 companies, and pre-arranged consultation matches increased by more than 40% to 916 cases. KITA explained that this reflects the psychology of Japanese buyers expecting an increase in preference for domestic products in Japan due to improved Korea-Japan relations.
At the opening ceremony, KITA Chairman Koo Ja-yeol said, "With the improvement of bilateral relations, we expect economic exchanges to accelerate rapidly," adding, "Based on the experience of cooperation between companies from both countries in various industries, economic exchanges between the two countries should be further activated and expanded."
