Baek Jong-han, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Urges Creation of Safe Playgrounds
Voices have been raised urging the creation, maintenance, and management of spaces to ensure the safety of children's playground facilities.
On the 9th, Baek Jong-han, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, expressed concerns about the reality of playgrounds being exposed to safety risks during a 5-minute free speech at the 311th extraordinary session plenary meeting, calling for the establishment of safe playground creation and management measures.
Councilor Baek referred to the case of playground creation in France and proposed ▲ installing safety fences around playgrounds that can be distinguished from other facilities in parks ▲ creating flooring to maintain playground cleanliness ▲ fulfilling cultural welfare and direct communication with citizens through the installation of book storage and communication boxes.
Councilor Baek stated, “Play is a very important role for children to grow into healthy members of society,” and added, “To create safe and enjoyable play spaces, it is necessary to establish safety management through proper surveys, install safety facilities for children, and build a thorough management system.”
