On the 9th, Lululab announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 8th with Yonsei Cancer Hospital Scar Plastic Surgery Laser Center to successfully operate and strengthen cooperation of the ‘Skin AI Beauty Research Center.’
Previously, in 2020, Lululab signed an agreement with Yonsei University Severance Hospital to build a ‘Skin Diagnosis AI Database’ and has jointly researched AI analysis technology for 15 chronic skin diseases including atopy, psoriasis, and vitiligo. Through this, they explained that the technology level for some diseases has been raised to a commercially viable stage.
This MOU was promoted as a follow-up measure due to progress in the related research and development. Lululab will establish the Skin AI Beauty Research Center within the Scar Plastic Surgery Laser Center. This center will serve as a flagship to showcase hospital-optimized AI solutions targeting overseas clients, who account for more than 90% of Lululab’s customers. Lululab plans to install AI skin analysis equipment in the center to conduct in-depth research on various skin diseases and continue various joint academic activities such as publishing papers on the development of AI skin disease solutions.
Lee Joo-hee, head of the Scar Plastic Surgery Laser Center, said, “Through collaboration with Lululab, we plan to build a scar and cosmetic treatment effect prediction model based on accurate skin analysis using AI in the future,” adding, “We expect it to be effectively applied in clinical practice as well.”
