Seongdong-gu Opens 'Seongsu Popup Platform' for Small and Medium Enterprises
Seongsu-dong Handmade Shoes Hope Platform Reorganized into Popup Store and Showroom Space, Full Operation Starting May
Utilized as Product Exhibition and Promotion Space to Revitalize Handmade Shoes Specialized Street and Support Small and Medium Enterprises
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced the renewal and reopening of the Seongsu Handmade Shoes Hope Platform as a popup platform for small and medium enterprises and small business owners.
The first floor (area 141.75㎡) of the 'Seongsu-dong Handmade Shoes Hope Platform,' which had been used as a handmade shoes exhibition hall, has been newly created as a space to support local small business startups and as a popup store and showroom space to revitalize the local commercial district.
In Seongsu-dong, which has recently emerged as a 'hot place' where various trend-leading brands and the MZ generation have begun to gather, a product exhibition, promotion, and event space has been prepared for small and medium enterprises and small business owners who find rent burdensome.
This space will be used as a popup exhibition space for small and medium enterprises and small business owners in various industries, including local specialized industries such as fashion and handmade shoes. Additionally, to revitalize the commercial district around Ttukseom Station, which has relatively low foot traffic, active collaboration with various artists and brands will be promoted.
Seongdong-gu has renewed the Seongsu Handmade Shoes Hope Platform and will operate it as an exhibition and promotional space for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners starting in May.

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced on the 9th that it will create a 20 billion KRW ‘Guro Youth Accompaniment Startup Fund’ to invest in excellent small and venture companies in the region.
The newly established ‘Guro Youth Accompaniment Startup Fund’ is the district’s first equity investment project this year and a representative pledge of Mayor Moon Heon-il’s 8th-term administration, following the opening of the Guro Youth Startup Support Center in February.
The district plans to contribute 1 billion KRW aiming to form a fund of at least 20 billion KRW.
Through this, the fund will focus investments on small and venture companies within 7 years of startup that have technological capabilities but face financial difficulties, nurturing excellent startups in the district and establishing a virtuous cycle in the startup ecosystem.
More than 200% of the district’s contribution must be operated under the condition of supporting startup small and venture companies located in Guro-gu or those scheduled to relocate to Guro-gu within one year.
The district is currently recruiting general partners responsible for fund formation and operation, and plans to select one final partner through a first written review and a second face-to-face review within this month.
General partners proposing to increase the target fund amount or exceed the mandatory investment ratio in companies located in Guro-gu will be given preference, and the selected partner must form the fund within three months.
