New COVID-19 Cases 8,164... Approximately 2,400 More Than Last Week (Update)
Amid a recent increase in the spread of COVID-19, the number of new confirmed cases on the 8th recorded in the early 8,000s.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 8,164 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the cumulative total to 31,285,910.
The number of new cases on this day was 6,578 fewer than the previous day (14,742) due to reduced testing over the weekend. However, compared to a week ago on the 1st (5,774 cases), it increased by 2,390.
The number of critically ill patients hospitalized increased by 4 from the previous day to 137.
There were 7 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 34,534 (fatality rate 0.11%).
