Presidential Office Official: "Fusion of K-pop and Expo Hosting"
On the 4th, the Presidential Office announced that it has launched a land, sea, and air operation to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo by wrapping BLACKPINK on a Korean Air plane bound for Paris.
A Presidential Office official said in a meeting with reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office that morning, "This is to fuse the energy of K-pop and the Expo bid into one and to further raise international interest."
The official explained that K-brand power such as K-pop, K-culture, K-food, and K-movies is having a remarkable influence on the international community.
The official said, "K-pop is a representative Korean-style global standard," adding, "The Expo aims for technological advancement, while K-pop aims for artistic progress. The creative fusion of science and art will generate a synergy effect that can produce a third creation."
He pledged, saying that every country they visit for the Expo bid tells them that Korea is the trend, and "We will plan the Expo as a global festival that fully expresses the unique culture of excitement and the spirit of talent of Koreans, making the world dance."
Regarding the recent visit of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) inspection team to Busan, he explained, "The international community's response is rapidly changing, and Busan's preparation and passion to host the Expo are becoming public opinion internationally," adding, "We will propose Korean-style solutions to overcome global crises and reach a target point that can lead great changes."
Earlier, Korean Air unveiled a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft wrapped with photos of BLACKPINK members, the global artists, to wish for the success of the Busan Expo bid.

The aircraft will start flying worldwide to promote the Busan Expo bid, beginning with flight KE901 from Incheon to Paris on the same day.
