Prosecution Indicts Kim Inseop, 'Baekhyeondong Lobbyist,' and Detains Him
On the 2nd, the prosecution indicted Kim In-seop, former CEO of Korea Housing Technology, who was identified as a lobbyist for the Baekhyeon-dong development project.
The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Eom Hee-jun) arrested and indicted former CEO Kim on charges including bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
According to the prosecution, former CEO Kim is accused of receiving 7.7 billion KRW from Asia Developer Chairman Jeong Mo, a real estate development company, as a bribe for facilitating permits related to the Baekhyeon-dong development project from September 2015 to March of this year.

The prosecution suspects that former CEO Kim lobbied the office of Lee Jae-myung, then mayor of Seongnam City and current leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, through meetings and letters with associates while in prison at the time. He is also accused of receiving the business rights to a restaurant (Hambasikdang) at the Baekhyeon-dong project construction site worth approximately 500 million KRW in October 2017.
