All Children Happy on HAPPY DAY... Meet at the 50th Busan Children's Day Grand Festival at Haeundae Cinema Center
May 5th, 10 AM to 3 PM, Various Performances and Experiences
Busan City will hold the “50th Busan Children's Day Grand Festival” on May 5th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the Busan Cinema Center to celebrate Children's Day and Children's Week.
Until last year, the “Busan Children's Day Grand Festival” was held both online and offline with time-separated performances and programs to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, this year marks the first Children's Day event since the full lifting of outdoor mask mandates, and the festival plans to offer seamless programs by time and location so that children can fully enjoy the day with their families.
The event will be operated under the slogan “A Happy Day Where All Children Are Happy,” featuring five themed Children's Day programs that allow children to fully experience five types of joy: ▲“Joy of Watching,” ▲“Joy of Creating,” ▲“Joy of Sharing,” ▲“Joy of Learning,” and ▲“Joy of Challenging.”
▲The “Joy of Watching” program will focus on performances that delight children’s eyes, including the Smile Balloon Box show, a special performance by Carrie and Friends, and a YouTuber fan meeting, all held at the outdoor theater and outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center. ▲The “Joy of Creating” program will take place at the Busan International Film Festival Plaza, featuring sensory and brain development activities such as the Lego Wall Playground, Big Block Village Building, Aqua Magic, and Run! Colorful Car Racing.
▲The “Joy of Sharing” program will offer activities to enjoy with friends, such as the DJ Ppong Diss Party and Smile Board Game Room, set up at the outdoor stage. ▲The “Joy of Learning” program includes the Children’s Happy Store, where kids create and sell their own items, and a science show that explains various scientific principles through entertaining magic performances, held at the outdoor theater and in front of Double Cone. Lastly, ▲the “Joy of Challenging” program will foster children’s spirit of challenge with the Challenge! Children’s Body Fitness Club and various challenge events at the Busan International Film Festival Plaza.
Additionally, related local organizations will present fun programs to help children develop safe living habits and grow healthily in celebration of Children's Day. These include safety experience and education puppet shows by the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, storybook sharing and making experiences by the Busan City Daycare Center Association, a book exchange event by Busan Bank, a Cyca photo zone by the Busan Police Agency, and a soccer ball kicking event by Busan IPark.
