Busan City, Public Institution Efficiency... 'Facility Corporation-Jibanggongdan SpoOne Integration' Launches on May 1
Institution Integration, Providing Better Services to Citizens
Management and Business Operations, Expecting Many Synergy Effects
Busan City announced that its representative public enterprises, ‘Busan Facilities Corporation’ and ‘Busan Regional Corporation SpoOne,’ will merge as of May 1.
The name of the integrated corporation will be ‘Busan Facilities Corporation.’
Following the ‘Innovation Direction for Public Institutions in the 8th Elected Term’ announced by the Public Pledge Promotion Planning Group in August last year, the city has been promoting measures to improve the efficiency of public institutions by eliminating inefficiencies caused by similar and overlapping functions.
At the end of March, the city unified the municipal research functions of the Busan Welfare Development Institute and the Women and Family Development Institute into the Busan Research Institute, converted the Busan Welfare Development Institute into the Busan Social Service Institute, and this is the first time for an institutional merger.
Established in 1992, Busan Facilities Corporation currently plays a frontline role in managing Busan City’s facilities such as roads, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, parks, and funeral facilities. SpoOne, established in 2003 as the Busan Regional Corporation, has provided various leisure sports facilities such as the cycle racing track, indoor sports center, tennis courts, and recreational spaces like parks.
With this integration, the city will operate facilities closely related to citizens’ daily lives in a unified manner, expecting to provide better services to citizens externally and improve management and business operations efficiency internally.
‘Busan Facilities Corporation’ has set ▲urban safety ▲eco-friendly green ▲smart technology ▲social value as core tasks for management innovation and plans to realize workforce and organizational efficiency, increase business revenue, participate in smart technology development projects, and practice environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management.
