30,000 Youth in Gyeonggi-do to Receive 'Labor Rights Education'
Gyeonggi Province will conduct labor rights education starting from the 2nd for about 30,000 students from specialized high schools and Meister high schools within the province, as well as out-of-school youth.
Earlier in February, the province conducted a demand survey targeting high schools and youth-related institutions within the province to receive applications from schools and individuals interested in participating. Based on this, the province decided to prioritize support for specialized high school students and out-of-school youth, who have a relatively high participation rate in labor.
This education will cover not only labor law but also the value of labor, work ethics, and raising awareness of labor rights to protect labor rights and improve recognition.
In particular, the content regarding the protection of rights for small-scale workplaces with fewer than five employees and ultra-short-term workers has been strengthened. Additionally, to engage students' interest and enthusiasm, the program will be conducted 100% face-to-face with participatory classes as the focus.
The province introduced youth labor rights education in 2018 and has been promoting the 'Visiting Youth Labor Rights' education program since 2019.
In February, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon also shared difficulties regarding poor labor conditions by watching the film "Next Sohee" together with specialized high school students.
