View original imageLee Jeong-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, met with employees of Daejeon Combined Heat and Power Plant in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, on the 1st, Labor Day, and emphasized, "We will root out all kinds of loopholes and a sense of privilege and protect the rights of vulnerable workers."
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Minister Lee visited the Daejeon Combined Heat and Power Plant in the afternoon to encourage the workers on duty. The schedule was held privately from the media.
The Daejeon Combined Heat and Power Plant supplies heating, cooling, and electricity to the local industrial complex and 50,000 households.
Minister Lee encouraged the power plant workers who work in shifts even on Labor Day and listened to the opinions of executives and employees on creating a better workplace.
Minister Lee said, "By focusing the Ministry of Employment and Labor's capabilities on planned supervision of the abuse of comprehensive wages, long working hours supervision, maternity protection, and the online labor-management corruption reporting center, we will establish laws and principles on site, root out all kinds of loopholes and privileges, and protect the legitimate rights of vulnerable workers that must be guaranteed."
