View original imageKorea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is partnering with Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital (hereinafter Mass General Hospital) and the biotech company Moderna to train physician-scientists and bio-specialized personnel.
KAIST announced on the 29th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mass General Hospital and Moderna at the Langham Hotel in Boston, USA.
Through this MOU, KAIST plans to seek collaboration with the innovative ecosystem created by the convergence of medicine and engineering in the United States. It intends to develop a Korean-style convergence education program and implement a differentiated curriculum by strengthening science and engineering fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) when establishing a graduate school of science, technology, and medicine in the future.

The MOU with Moderna includes training medical science professionals together with KAIST’s Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering. They will discuss multifaceted cooperation plans covering vaccine and new drug development, virus research, messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) joint research, and rapid technology commercialization.
