Jeongeup-si to Operate 'Water Leisure Bumper Boats' Starting from the 2nd of Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 28th that it will operate bumper boats in the water leisure experience zone created around Naejangsan Culture Plaza starting from the 2nd of next month.

The operating hours are divided into two sessions: from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There are a total of 20 boats in operation.

The usage fee is 7,000 KRW for 15 minutes and 10,000 KRW for 30 minutes per two-person boat. However, Jeongeup citizens and recipients of national basic livelihood security benefits receive a discount of 2,000 KRW.

Known as the "bumper car on water," bumper boats are water leisure facilities that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy. They are available for use from age 15 and above (children under 14 must be accompanied by a guardian).

The water leisure experience zone, covering 6,500 square meters at the confluence of Jeongeupcheon and Bujeoncheon near Naejangsan Culture Plaza, was established with an investment of 700 million KRW as part of creating a year-round stay-type tourist destination.

In addition to bumper boats, the facility includes a mooring dock (52m × 5.5m), restrooms, a storage room, and a ticket booth.

This area is also home to various attractions such as Cheonsa Heroes, a core facility of Jeongeup tourism, the National Leisure Camping Site, and a water park.

A city official stated, “By organically linking and operating these facilities, the Naejangsan Culture Plaza area is becoming the number one healing travel destination for people of all ages. We will continue to make greater efforts to develop the Naejangsan Culture Plaza area into a hub for the revival of Jeongeup tourism and the revitalization of the local economy.”
