Daejeon City Implements 'Indoor Navigation' Around Daejeon Station
Daejeon City is promoting a pilot project to implement indoor navigation around Daejeon Station.
On the 26th, the city announced that it was finally selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s leading local government contest project for ‘Address System Advancement and Innovation Growth Industry Support.’
The contest was conducted with the purpose of discovering service models that converge and integrate 4th Industrial Revolution new technologies such as indoor navigation, Internet of Things, and digital twins with address information.
Daejeon was selected in the pilot project field for indoor navigation implementation.
According to the selection results, the city will establish a system to respond to disasters by linking address-based indoor navigation under the assumption of disasters such as fire, terrorism, and floods occurring around Daejeon Station.
In spaces used by unspecified many people, the purpose is to help indoor users normally use location-based services inside buildings and to serve as a guide in emergency rescue and disaster situations by quickly finding evacuation routes.
