Kim Arim aims for a consecutive win at the 2023 season’s first major tournament on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, the Chris F&C 45th KLPGA Championship (total prize money 1.3 billion KRW), held over four days starting from the 27th at the Lakewood Country Club’s Mountain Trail and Forest Trail courses in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,570 yards). Having won this tournament last year, Kim Arim crossed the Pacific to defend her title. Only two players have successfully defended their title at the KLPGA Championship, which boasts the longest history: the late Ku Okhee, who won three consecutive times from 1980 to 1982, and Park Hyunkyung, who won in 2020 and 2021.

Park Hyunkyung hopes to reclaim the top spot after two years. After finishing 12th as a rookie in 2019, she has achieved outstanding results over the past three years with two wins and a 10th place finish.
