Man in 30s Arrested for Stabbing Mother Over "Not Wanting to Hear Nagging"
The Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his late 30s, Mr. A, on the 24th on charges of attempting to kill his mother because he did not want to hear her nagging.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of stabbing his mother, Ms. B, in her 60s, with a weapon at his home in Galhyeon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, around 7:20 p.m. on the 21st, and then fleeing the scene (attempted parricide).
Ms. B was transported to the hospital by ambulance without informing anyone that her son had stabbed her, but the hospital staff, judging by the nature of the wound, suspected it was not an accident or mistake and reported it to the police.
The police arrested Mr. A around 6 p.m. on the 22nd in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, and applied for an arrest warrant. Judge Jeong In-jae, the warrant judge at the Seoul Western District Court, conducted a pre-arrest interrogation of Mr. A that morning and issued the arrest warrant, citing concerns about evidence tampering and flight risk.
