Samsung and LG Unveil 'Korean War Heroes' Tribute Video at New York Times Square (Comprehensive)

Expressing Gratitude to Korean War Veterans
On the 20th (local time), Samsung and LG unveiled a commemorative tribute video celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance at New York's Times Square, expressing respect and gratitude to Korean War veterans. The video features photos of the "Top 10 Heroes of the Korean War" along with messages of thanks. It is scheduled to be screened for two weeks until the 3rd of next month.
The 30-second video, produced by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, introduces 12 Korean War veterans in sequence. The selected figures include ▲ General MacArthur, who successfully led the Incheon Landing Operation ▲ General Van Fleet, who served alongside his son and lost him on the battlefield ▲ Colonel Kim Young-ok, son of independence activist Kim Soon-kwon, who was named one of the "Top 16 US War Heroes."
The tribute video conveys the message, "The freedom, prosperity, and peace we enjoy today are thanks to the sacrifices of veterans who came from afar," and pledges, "We will forever remember the sacrifices and dedication of the Korean War heroes."
Through the video, Samsung expressed gratitude to the veterans who contributed to building today's Republic of Korea and conveyed the strong friendship between Korea and the US that has lasted for 70 years to the world. LG concluded the video with a message saying, "LG Thanks and Honors Korean War Heroes," expressing its appreciation.
Meanwhile, Samsung and LG have been continuously supporting Korean War veterans and their descendants. Samsung Electronics was recognized for these efforts and became the first Korean company to receive the "Patriot Award" from the American Legion in 2013. Samsung has also supported the construction of Korean War memorials and the operation of veterans' foundations not only in the US but also in the UK, Ethiopia, and has provided scholarships to descendants of veterans in countries such as ▲ Colombia ▲ Turkey ▲ Thailand.
LG Electronics donated "LG DIOS dishwashers" to descendants of independence activists last August in celebration of Liberation Day. Since 2020, LG Electronics has been running the "LG Hope Village" project to provide comfortable housing and improve educational environments for Korean War veterans and their descendants in Ethiopia. LG Uplus has been conducting the "In an Independent Homeland, See You Again" campaign since the 2nd of this month in collaboration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to commemorate the repatriation of the remains of Hwang Gi-hwan, a patriot who was the real-life model for Captain Eugene Choi, the protagonist of the drama "Mr. Sunshine."
