Development of Plant-Based 'Better Bun' Instead of Animal Ingredients
Applied to All Menus from the 20th
Shinsegae Food's 'No Brand Burger' will switch the buns used in all its burger menu items to 100% plant-based buns.
Shinsegae Food announced on the 19th that starting from the 20th, all burgers sold at No Brand Burger will feature the 'Better Bun,' developed using 100% plant-based ingredients. The Better Bun replaces animal-derived ingredients commonly used in buns, such as butter, milk, and eggs, with 100% plant-based materials. It is characterized by its savory and mild flavor that harmonizes well with various burger ingredients like patties, tomatoes, lettuce, sauces, and cheese.
No Brand Burger plans to expand menu options for consumers who care about the environment and health by continuously launching low-carbon healthy menus using alternative foods. To this end, they are introducing a new low-carbon healthy menu category called 'Better Choice,' made entirely from plant-based ingredients. In May, they will be the first burger franchise worldwide to launch the 'Better Burger,' made with the plant-based Better Bun, alternative meat 'Better Meat' patties, plant-based cheese, and plant-based sauces?all 100% plant-based ingredients. In June, they plan to sequentially introduce items like the 'Better Nugget,' which replicates the taste and texture of chicken nuggets using 100% plant-based ingredients.
