In Early Early Summer Weather... GS25 Launches Differentiated Bingsu
Ice Cream Sales Nearly Match Last Year's June-July Levels
GS25 announced on the 19th that it will launch a differentiated frozen dessert product, ‘Chunsiki Strawberry Bingsu,’ in line with the early early summer weather. This release date was brought forward by more than two weeks from the original plan.
Chunsiki Strawberry Bingsu consists of four layers stacked in order: strawberry pulp, strawberry syrup, strawberry bingsu mix, and milk bingsu mix. The rich creaminess of the milk and the fresh and sweet taste from the strawberry pulp create a harmony comparable to specialty bingsu shops.
A special manufacturing method is applied, such as using ice ground finer than regular bingsu, allowing for a soft texture even when taken directly from the freezer. The product packaging features the Chunsiki character, cleverly combining the Chunsiki character with strawberry images.
GS25 plans to continuously expand its frozen dessert lineup and intends to extend promotions such as the 50% discount event when purchasing five or more of about 50 types of ice cream every month.
According to GS25, frozen dessert sales from the 20th of last month to the 16th of this month increased by 72.2% compared to the same period last year. Considering that the peak season for frozen dessert sales usually starts in late June, the early summer, this means the peak sales period for frozen desserts this year has advanced by up to about three months.
