Reading, Viewing, Writing, and Enhancing Data Literacy
"Utilizing Data Without Professional Analytical Techniques"
Daegu City is opening educational opportunities to non-majors to help utilize big data.
The 'Daegu Big Data Utilization Center,' operated by Daegu City and the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency, will conduct educational programs on 'data literacy' and 'data-driven problem solving' to enhance data utilization skills.
'Data literacy,' which strengthens data utilization capabilities, refers to the ability to read data and understand the hidden meanings within it. It is an essential skill that enables quick comprehension of the meaning contained in data and its application to objectives by learning data collection and analysis techniques through analysis without programming.
The education period will take place over two days, from May 22 to 23, totaling 10 hours.
The 'data-driven problem solving education' covers the problem-solving process through design thinking based on data. The education period is scheduled for two days, from May 30 to 31, totaling 10 hours.
Design thinking is a creative strategy used by designers during the design process.
Design thinking is an approach that can be used to contemplate problems and solve them more broadly than professional design practices, and it has been applied to industrial and social issues.
This educational program is open to a wide range of people, including general citizens, company officials, and prospective entrepreneurs, and the education is provided free of charge.
After participating in the data education program, practical exercises using real data to solve problems will be conducted, allowing participants to develop skills that can be applied in actual work even after completing the education.
This educational program is composed of relatable cases that anyone can easily understand, allowing not only those with professional knowledge but also non-majors to participate. Pre-registration will be available from the 19th through the Daegu Big Data Utilization Center.
