"It's Spring Now?"... Up to 7cm Snow Forecast in Northern Gangwon Mountain Area
A heavy snow advisory has been issued for the mountainous areas of Gangwon Province.
According to the Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration on the 16th, a heavy snow advisory was issued for the northern mountains at 3:40 PM.
Currently, 1 to 3 cm of snow has accumulated on Hyangrobong and other peaks.
As snow piled up mainly in the high mountain areas, the combination of spring flowers and snowflakes created a unique snowy landscape. Snowfall is expected to continue until night, adding another 1 to 5 cm, with a total expected accumulation of 2 to 7 cm.

Snow also fell in the mountainous areas of Gangwon at the end of April last year, and in early May 2021, heavy snow fell, leading to the issuance of a heavy snow advisory for the first time in 22 years since 1999.
