Outback Introduces Apple Pay Payment Service at Nationwide Stores
NFC Terminals Installed at Over 90 Stores Completed
Outback Steakhouse, operated by bhc Group, is enhancing customer convenience by introducing the Apple Pay payment system.
Outback announced on the 14th that it has completed the installation of Near Field Communication (NFC) terminals to support Apple's simple payment service, Apple Pay, at over 90 restaurant locations nationwide and will officially launch the service.
The support for the Apple Pay payment system was introduced to increase customer convenience by expanding new payment methods and to promote a simple and secure payment culture.
Customers using Apple Pay in stores can make contactless payments by double-clicking the side button on their Apple device (or the home button for Touch ID devices) and then holding their iPhone or Apple Watch close to the payment terminal.
All Apple Pay purchases are secure because they are authenticated through Face ID, Touch ID, or a unique dynamic security payment cryptogram generated each time. In particular, when paying with a credit or debit card, the card number is not stored on Apple servers or the individual device; instead, a unique Device Account Number (DAN) is generated and securely stored after encryption in a security chip certified by industry standards.
