"Realizing Carbon Neutrality in Supply Chains" Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Support Partner Training
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced on the 13th that they will implement a training support program for their suppliers to achieve carbon neutrality in the supply chain.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will conduct online and offline training sessions at the Cheonan Global Learning Center on the 11th, the Gyeongju Hyundai Motor Global Win-Win Cooperation Center on the 13th, and the Kia Autoland Gwangju Training Center on the 19th. This training will be conducted for about 360 first-tier suppliers until next month. Hyundai Motor Company and Kia have prepared this program to systematize the management of carbon emissions in the supply chain.
The training program is mainly composed of ▲Overview of carbon neutrality and internal/external trends ▲Theory and practice of greenhouse gas emission calculation ▲Response measures for carbon information disclosure. It focuses on strengthening practical skills for actual data input as well as building a greenhouse gas inventory, which is essential for establishing a carbon neutrality strategy.
In particular, the ▲Response measures for carbon information disclosure section was prepared to enhance understanding of the procedures for disclosing climate change information externally through the 'CDP Supply Chain' program of CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), an international non-profit environmental organization.
The 'CDP Supply Chain' is a global program by CDP that identifies and manages climate change risks in the supply chain (suppliers). Hyundai Motor Company and Kia joined in February. Suppliers disclose and have reviewed information such as ▲energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission status ▲carbon neutrality strategy ▲establishment and execution of reduction targets ▲plans and implementation status of renewable energy transition to CDP.
