Muan-gun Appoints 23 Supervisors for Major Accident Prevention Management

Strengthening the Importance of Safety Management and Commitment to Practice

Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) awarded appointment letters on the 10th to the Safety and Health Management Officer responsible for safety management in field operations (Deputy Governor Kim Seong-hoon) and 23 supervisors (heads of offices, divisions, and sections).

According to the county on the 11th, the "Serious Accident Punishment Act" requires the appointment of supervisors for safety and health management of field workers at the main office and business sites, public facilities, and construction projects with a budget exceeding 5 billion KRW.

The Safety and Health Management Officer is responsible for △establishing industrial accident prevention plans △drafting safety and health management regulations △providing safety and health education to workers △inspecting the work environment △conducting safety inspections of machinery and equipment △checking and guiding workers' protective measures and education △reporting industrial accidents and emergency response △identifying hazardous and dangerous factors and implementing improvement measures.

Before appointing supervisors, Muan-gun established a safety and health management system and conducted self-inspections of construction sites. By awarding the appointment letters this time, it emphasized the importance of safety management and served as an opportunity to strengthen the commitment to practice it.

Governor Kim San said, "The diversification of disasters and accidents has raised expectations and standards for safety, making safety the most important part of all work processes. Although the responsibility for the safety and health management of field workers is heavy, please strive to make 'safety' the cornerstone of county administration through thorough preparation and response."

Meanwhile, to improve issues revealed during inspections, the county established and has been implementing a comprehensive plan for serious accident prevention on February 13, making it easier for employees to understand related laws. There are also plans to operate systematic education programs for supervisors and field workers.
