Police Request Red Alert for Broker and Are Tracking Them
A group was arrested for deceiving foreign women into entering the country under the pretense of restaurant jobs, then confining them and forcing them into prostitution.
Jeju Police Agency announced on the 10th that they have arrested and sent to prosecution four individuals, including entertainment bar owner Mr. A (in his 40s), on charges of confining foreign women and forcing them into prostitution (violation of the Act on the Punishment of Acts of Arranging Sexual Traffic, specifically coercion into prostitution and confinement).
According to the police, Mr. A and others are suspected of forcing four foreign women of Southeast Asian nationality into prostitution at the entertainment bar they operated from November last year until last month.

View original imageThey placed advertisements locally abroad stating they were recruiting foreigners to work in restaurants or bars serving food and drinks, then brought the victims to Jeju, where they forced them into prostitution after arrival.
In particular, to evade police crackdowns, they closed the entrance door of the entertainment bar, turned off the sign lights, and only accepted customers with reservations.
Their crimes were uncovered when one of the victimized women escaped from the lodging on the 4th of last month while everyone was asleep and reported to the police.
