A white kimchi product contaminated with food poisoning bacteria has been recalled.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced on the 7th that Yesodam, a kimchi company located in Cheongju, Chungbuk, has been ordered to recall white kimchi products. This is because Yersinia enterocolitica, a type of food poisoning bacteria, was detected in the 'Yesodam Special White Kimchi' sold by Yesodam.

View original imageYersinia enterocolitica is a food poisoning bacterium that can grow even at low temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees Celsius. Infection with this bacterium can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache.
The recall target is the 5 kg packaged white kimchi manufactured on March 28, with a total production volume of 1,490 kg.

An MFDS official stated, "We have taken measures to promptly recall the product," and urged, "Consumers who purchased the product should stop consuming it and return it to the place of purchase."
