[Weather] "Should I take out my padding?" Weekend morning temperatures around 0 degrees amid 'Kkotsem Chuwi'
This weekend, the whole country is expected to be mostly clear, with a cold snap causing temperatures to drop to around 0 degrees Celsius in the mornings.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 7th, cold air descending from the northwest will cause morning temperatures on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th to fall to around 0 degrees Celsius in most regions nationwide. This is about 5 degrees lower than on Friday.
The lowest morning temperatures on the 8th are expected to range from -2 to 6 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 12 and 18 degrees. On the 9th, morning lows are forecasted between -2 and 8 degrees, and daytime highs between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius.
Frost will form and ice may develop mainly inland from dawn to morning, so caution is needed to prevent damage to crops.
On the 9th, warm westerly winds will flow in, causing the daily temperature range to widen to around 20 degrees Celsius.
On the 8th, very strong winds are expected in Gangwon Yeongdong, the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and Jeju Island, so care should be taken to prevent damage.
As the air is expected to gradually become dry, especially in the eastern regions over the weekend, fire precautions are necessary.
