Changwon Special City Holds Entrance Ceremony for Changwon Matseuteo Culinary School Master Course
Passing on Culinary Expert Instructor Know-How... 44 Graduates Produced Over 2 Years
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the entrance ceremony for the ‘3rd Changwon Master Cooking School Master Course’ at Masan University on the 7th.
The ceremony was attended by Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Lee Hak-jin, President of Masan University, and 20 representatives from the food service industry.
The Changwon Master Cooking School is the first initiative by a local government aimed at discovering local popular restaurants and developing the regional food service industry by strengthening the capabilities of food service business owners. This year marks its third session, having produced 44 graduates over the past two years.

View original imageThis year, the city selected 20 business owners through a rigorous screening process. Masan University, the entrusted institution, will operate the 3rd Changwon Master Cooking School Master Course from April to November.
The Master Course transfers know-how from a team of culinary experts with extensive practical experience, including Chef Shin Hyo-seop and several other renowned special instructors. It is a capability enhancement education program for food service operators that offers new menu development through practical cooking sessions in various fields, on-site consulting visits, and training on food service trends and SNS promotional techniques.
Kim Bo-kyung, the representative of the trainees, expressed her ambition, saying, “All enrolled students will faithfully participate in the course to supplement their usual shortcomings and lay the foundation for a new leap forward, striving to qualify as representative popular restaurants of the city.”

The city plans to operate two support courses for young entrepreneurs from May to June and September to October. Twenty food service business owners under the age of 39 will be selected for each course to support their successful independence through training in food service operation strategies, service education, and SNS promotional marketing education.
