70-Year-Old Man Who Killed Woman He Was Stalking Sent to Prosecution in Custody
A man in his 70s suspected of killing an acquaintance at a temple in Seoul has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Nowon Police Station in Seoul arrested and sent Mr. A (72) to the prosecution on the 7th on charges of killing a woman he was stalking (murder and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act, etc.).
Mr. A is accused of repeatedly striking the head of Mr. B (65), who was working in the kitchen at the Hakrimsa Temple restaurant on Suraksan Mountain in Seoul, with a blunt weapon at around 5:26 a.m. on the 31st of last month, resulting in his death.
Mr. A is also accused of unilaterally expressing affection and repeatedly demanding meetings despite Mr. B showing rejection.
After the crime, Mr. A took Mr. B’s mobile phone nearby and deliberately damaged it. It is known that evidence of the stalking was stored on Mr. B’s phone.

Mr. A reported himself to 112 immediately after the crime, and the police arrested him 15 minutes after the incident. It is reported that Mr. A told the police he committed the crime because Mr. B, who had been volunteering for four years, had been harsh to him.
