"Continuous Wedding Inquiries and 33% Foreign Guest Room Reservations: Nine Tree Yongsan Opens on the 7th (Comprehensive)"
Room Reservations Up 33% Among Foreigners This Month Amid Endemic
Differentiation with Suite Rooms and Executive Lounge
Weddings Start from May, Corporate Events Expand
As the endemic era (periodic outbreaks of infectious diseases) fully arrives, the number of foreign visitors to Korea is increasing, leading to the opening of new hotels in major regions nationwide. The 'Nine Tree Premier Locus Hotel Seoul Yongsan,' which opens on the 7th in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, targets a diverse range of domestic and international guests, including foreign demand driven by the endemic. Through advance reservations opened in mid-last month, over 33% of room bookings this month have already been made by foreigners. The nationalities are diverse, including Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, France, and the United States. It is also reported that the first-ever wedding service at Nine Tree, starting next month, is receiving continuous advance bookings.
Go So-jin, General Manager of Nine Tree Locus Yongsan, said at the opening commemorative briefing on the 6th, "The demand from foreign customers visiting Korea from overseas has expanded, and at the five Nine Tree locations excluding Yongsan, the proportion of foreign customer room bookings has already exceeded 70%." He added, "Yongsan will also attract not only overseas business and tourism demand but also domestic staycation demand after opening."
Nine Tree Locus Yongsan is a hotel developed by modernizing the Army Soldiers' House, which had been in operation since 1969, and is operated under consignment by Parnas Hotel. Army personnel also receive various benefits and can use the hotel, while civilians are free to use it as well.
General Manager Go emphasized that Nine Tree Locus Yongsan boasts a prime location that even global 5-star hotels find difficult to secure. Facing Yongsan Station and just crossing one street to the left leads to a central Seoul location with convenient transportation, which is a major strength. This is why it has MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) competitiveness not typically found in regular business hotels. Go said, "The Harmonies Hall and Floris Hall, which can accommodate 200 to 300 people, are optimized for weddings, banquets, corporate, and embassy events." There are also three meeting rooms available for small-scale events such as seminars, workshops, and meetings.
The composition of rooms and facilities is also differentiated. Nine Tree Locus Yongsan has a total of 274 rooms in 8 types. About 10% of all rooms are suites, targeting not only business demand but also various forms of staycation demand. The 131㎡ (approximately 43 pyeong) Prestige Suite is a suite room of a size rarely found in business hotels. The Garden Suite, measuring 165㎡ (about 50 pyeong), connects to a private rooftop garden where guests can hold outdoor parties or enjoy a private view of the Han River. Facilities also include a fitness room, adult pool and kids pool, family lounge, business room, and coin laundry. The hotel also offers the first Executive Floor Lounge (EFL) among Nine Tree hotels.
By recruiting a head chef and food and beverage experts from the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, the hotel offers food and beverage products and services at a luxury hotel level as a distinctive point. The first directly operated restaurant in a Nine Tree hotel has also opened. It features the all-day dining restaurant 'Apety,' the bakery cafe 'Locus Deli' where a pastry chef bakes bread directly, and 'Apety Lounge,' where guests can enjoy cocktails and drinks crafted by a professional mixologist.
General Manager Go emphasized that Nine Tree Locus Yongsan "will be a unique hotel that creates a new category of 4.5-star, between 4-star and 5-star." Although a 4.5-star hotel does not officially exist in hotel ratings, this expresses confidence that the hotel will possess strengths that surpass 4-star hotels and rival global 5-star hotels. With 27 years of experience as GRO (VIP manager), room operations, and management at major InterContinental hotels domestically and internationally, including Los Angeles, USA, and Hanoi, Vietnam, Go was recognized for her rich experience and meticulous leadership and appointed as the first female general manager of a Nine Tree hotel. She emphasized, "This is not a typical business hotel where guests just stay briefly; we will create a special customer experience where the hotel itself becomes the destination."
Meanwhile, Parnas Hotel has expanded the premium business hotel brand Nine Tree to five locations in key areas of Seoul and Gyeonggi, including Myeongdong, Insadong, Dongdaemun, and Pangyo, starting with Nine Tree Hotel Myeongdong in 2012. Nine Tree Locus Yongsan is the sixth Nine Tree hotel. Parnas Hotel is currently considering opening the seventh and eighth Nine Tree hotels in major domestic regions and is moving forward with future expansion plans.
