Police Arrest One More Suspect in Gangnam Academy District Drug Drink Case
One more member of a group accused of distributing drinks containing drug substances to students in the Gangnam academy district has surrendered.
On the 6th, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced that they are investigating a woman in her 20s, identified as A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. A reportedly came to the police station and surrendered at around 9:30 a.m. that day.
A, along with two men in their 20s, B and C (49-year-old female), and a woman in her 40s, D, are suspected of handing out drinks containing drug substances to high school students near Gangnam-gu Office Station and Daechi Station in Seoul. It is reported that they told the students, "This is a tasting event for a newly developed concentration-enhancing drink."
The police have currently secured the custody of three individuals. B and C were apprehended by the police on the 5th. B voluntarily appeared at the police station and surrendered, while C was arrested in the Dongdaemun-gu area. The police stated that they are still pursuing D, who has not yet been caught.
