Ulsan City held the '2023 Regulatory Innovation Joint Meeting' at 11 a.m. on the 6th at the Ulsan New Port Hinterland Complex.
The meeting was organized to listen to various difficulties and regulatory improvement suggestions experienced by resident companies and to seek reasonable solutions.
About 20 people attended the meeting, including Kim Su-jong, Chairman of the Ulsan City Council Regulatory Reform Special Committee; Jeong Sun-yo, Head of Operations at Ulsan Port Authority; representatives of the Ulsan New Port Hinterland Complex Resident Companies Association; and Ulsan City officials.
At the meeting, the Resident Companies Association requested that the lease period for port facilities be extended from the current 50 years to 100 years to enable stable business management for resident companies.
The Legal and Statistics Officer of Ulsan City responded, “We will actively work to propose and ensure that related laws and regulations are amended through close consultation with central government ministries and related organizations.”
In addition, various discussions were held regarding difficulties and regulatory improvements such as reducing rent for the port hinterland complex.
Ulsan City plans to continuously manage issues that were not immediately resolved on-site through further review by relevant agencies.
