Yoon Chairs 2nd National Task Review Meeting... "State Affairs and Diplomacy, Two Sides of the Same Coin"
Future Depends on Strengthening Supply Chains and Securing Technological Innovation Advantage
Efforts to Focus on Export Performance and Overseas Market Development
Emphasis on Restoring 3-Axis System and Countermeasure for North Korea Nuclear Threat
President Yoon Suk-yeol emphasized on the 5th that "state affairs and diplomacy are two sides of the same coin." This was to highlight that diplomacy is directly connected to the livelihood of the people amid the global complex crisis situations such as supply chain issues and the US-China conflict.
At the 2nd National Task Inspection Meeting held at the Blue House State Guest House that afternoon, President Yoon stated, "Solidarity and cooperation between countries sharing universal values is a matter directly linked not only to our survival and national interests in the international community but also to constitutional values such as liberal democracy and the market economy system."
This was the first time in over four months that President Yoon presided over the National Task Inspection Meeting since the 1st meeting where the three major reforms in labor, education, and pensions were discussed.
President Yoon stressed, "Our future depends on strengthening supply chains and securing technological superiority through advanced technological innovation amid the complex crisis," adding, "In a situation where advanced science and technology cooperation is carried out as a package, diplomacy and security are directly connected to the livelihood of our people."
He also reiterated the importance of economic diplomacy. President Yoon said, "We have elevated economic security cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the next level and have conducted comprehensive sales diplomacy capable of producing economic outcomes in all summit diplomacy," adding, "The core of diplomacy is the economy. Moving forward, we will expand global cooperation to strengthen cooperation in nuclear power, semiconductors, and supply chains, and focus our capabilities on achieving export results and pioneering overseas markets."
In the face of the complex crisis and repeated nuclear and missile provocations by North Korea, he also emphasized the importance of solidarity with liberal democratic countries, including trilateral cooperation among South Korea, the United States, and Japan. President Yoon introduced, "The South Korea-US alliance has already evolved beyond a military security alliance into a global comprehensive strategic alliance, and the importance of South Korea-Japan relations cannot be overstated. Our government presented the Indo-Pacific strategy at the end of last year as a global pivotal state based on freedom, peace, and prosperity."
Given the severe security situation in Northeast Asia, he clearly stated the need to establish a firm response posture for our military. President Yoon urged, "We must strengthen the alliance’s extended deterrence capabilities and restore the Korean-style three-axis system," adding, "And under any circumstances, when we are first attacked, our military must establish a firm adversary perspective and discipline, and maximize capabilities through effective practical training to be able to fight and win."

Regarding the public release of the North Korean Human Rights Report for the first time in seven years, he added, "It is most important to widely inform the international community both domestically and abroad about the horrific human rights violations of North Korean residents, and efforts must be made to ensure the practical implementation of the North Korean Human Rights Act."
