GM Korea announced on the 3rd that it sold a total of 40,781 vehicles in March, a 64.3% increase compared to the same month last year. This marked the highest monthly sales performance since December 2020.
GM Korea's overseas sales in March recorded a total of 39,082 units, an 84.2% increase compared to the same month last year. The company has maintained year-on-year growth in overseas markets for 12 consecutive months. The Chevrolet Trailblazer (including the Buick Encore GX) sold a total of 25,491 units in overseas markets, a 101.9% increase compared to the same month last year.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer has received high praise from domestic and international consumers for its outstanding product quality and excellent price-performance ratio, recognized by several reputable global organizations last year. According to the monthly automotive statistics report by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), the Trailblazer ranked first in export volume among all sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in the domestic automotive industry's export performance for January and February.
The Chevrolet Trax Crossover, which began its first shipment at the end of February, also drove sales performance in March with 13,591 units sold in the global market. The Trax Crossover is Chevrolet’s premium entry-level model that redefines crossover vehicles, featuring spacious interiors, new functions, and a modern, stylish design, receiving explosive customer response worldwide.
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Trax Crossover was also launched in the domestic market in March. It surpassed 10,000 pre-orders within just four business days of starting pre-sales, marking the highest pre-order record for a new Chevrolet model in Korea. Customer deliveries of the Trax Crossover in Korea will begin this month.
Additionally, in the domestic market, sales of the Chevrolet Traverse increased by 535.3% compared to the same month last year. The Chevrolet Traverse continues to enjoy steady popularity in the imported large SUV market with its overwhelming body size and best-in-class power performance.
Furthermore, Chevrolet’s pure electric vehicles, the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, resumed customer deliveries last month following subsidy confirmation. A total of 197 units were sold in March. The Bolt EV and EUV, which receive some of the highest subsidies among electric vehicles sold domestically, will begin full-scale deliveries to contracted customers starting this month.
As strategic models to accelerate the popularization of electric vehicles by General Motors (GM), the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV have single-charge driving ranges of 414 km and 403 km respectively, and can charge 80% of their total battery capacity within one hour using fast charging.
