[Box Office] 'Suzume-ui Mundan-sok' Tops Weekend Box Office for 4 Consecutive Weeks
Weekend Movie Theaters See 920,000 Visitors
The Japanese animated film 'Suzume no Tojimari' has held the top spot at the weekend box office for four consecutive weeks.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket sales network, from March 31 to April 2 last weekend, 'Suzume no Tojimari' attracted 581,391 viewers, securing first place at the box office. The film, which was released on March 8, has accumulated a total audience of 3,784,744.

'Suzume no Tojimari' is director Makoto Shinkai's "disaster trilogy," following 'Your Name.' (2016) and 'Weathering with You' (2019), and it deals with the Great East Japan Earthquake. Director Shinkai is expected to surpass the domestic record for the highest audience of 'Your Name.' (3.8 million viewers) and exceed a cumulative audience of 4 million.
'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,' released on March 29, debuted at number two with 120,170 viewers.
The Japanese animation 'The First Slam Dunk' attracted 62,203 viewers, ranking third. Released on January 4, the film has accumulated 4,381,356 viewers, making it the highest-grossing release of the year so far.
Director Park Seong-gwang's 'Ungnam-i' drew 45,238 viewers, placing fourth, followed by 'Soulmate,' which was seen by 19,492 viewers and ranked fifth.
Foreign films 'Otto is a Man' and 'Pavelmans' took sixth and seventh place, respectively. Singer Lim Young-woong's concert film 'I'm Hero The Final' ranked ninth.
