LG Uplus announced on the 3rd that it will introduce an online dividend inquiry service starting this year as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

The online dividend inquiry service replaces the existing 'dividend notice' that was sent to shareholders by mail. The purpose is to reduce paper usage to contribute to environmental protection and to enhance shareholder convenience.

The online dividend inquiry service can be accessed through the 'About Company' page on the official website, Uplus.com. LG Uplus shareholders can check the dividend details based on the number of shares held starting from the 2022 year-end dividend by simple membership registration and shareholder verification. The period for checking the expected dividend amount is from April 3 to April 30.

Until now, LG Uplus has notified shareholders annually about interim and year-end dividends by mail. As of the end of last year, LG Uplus had approximately 130,000 shareholders. It is expected that the introduction of this online dividend inquiry system will save about 260,000 sheets of paper annually. This is equivalent to about 26 30-year-old trees and approximately 2.6 million liters of water.

In addition to the environmental protection effect, LG Uplus expects a significant improvement in convenience from the shareholder perspective, as they can easily check the expected dividend amount in real time via PC and mobile devices.

Meanwhile, LG Uplus’s total dividend last year was 650 KRW, including an interim dividend of 250 KRW. The 2022 year-end dividend of 400 KRW per share is scheduled to be paid on the 14th.

LG Uplus continues activities to increase shareholder participation in decision-making and enhance convenience. In fact, since the 2021 shareholders’ meeting, it has introduced electronic voting to enhance shareholder rights, and this year it provided a live online and mobile broadcast of the shareholders’ meeting, allowing pre-registered shareholders to ask questions and receive answers.

Jae-yong Ahn, LG Uplus’s Finance Director (Executive Director), said, “We decided to introduce the online dividend inquiry service to reflect the rapidly changing trends in the capital market, improve investor convenience, and participate in LG Uplus’s eco-friendly management policy. We will continue to actively communicate with the market and seek activities to promote sustainable management and enhance shareholder value.”
