Gangbuk-gu Supports 'Fruit Lunchboxes' for Care SOS Households Including Elderly Living Alone
Year-round Fruit Lunchbox Support for Care SOS Households This Year
Providing Fresh Seasonal Fruits to Elderly Living Alone, Middle-aged, and Disabled to Help Restore Vitality
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced that starting from the 27th, the 'Happy Vitamin Fruit Lunchbox' support project will be carried out year-round until December for vulnerable groups in need of care due to sudden health deterioration.
This project is part of the Gangbuk-gu specialized project of the Care SOS Center, designed to deliver fresh seasonal fruits to the main target groups?elderly living alone, middle-aged, and disabled?to help them quickly regain their strength.
The fruit lunchboxes are provided exclusively to Care SOS recipients, delivered directly by service providers once a week for three weeks, totaling three deliveries.
Before delivering the fruit lunchboxes, recipients are contacted in advance to check for any fruit allergies, and ice packs are included to prevent the fruits from spoiling, ensuring the safety of the recipients.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “This fruit lunchbox support project was introduced to help Gangbuk residents who need temporary care and assistance recover their daily lives as quickly as possible.” She added, “The district will do its best to meet the increasingly diverse and complex care needs of residents and create a Gangbuk without welfare blind spots.”
