Na Hong-jin's New Work Starring Michael Fassbender, Hwang Jung-min, and Jo In-sung
Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender will star in director Na Hong-jin's new film 'Hope' (working title).
On the 30th, Plus M Entertainment announced, "We recently finalized the investment and distribution contract for director Na's film 'Hope' (working title)." They added, "It is attractive because it allows for various expansions by utilizing the content IP (intellectual property). We will support the new project, meticulously planned with the global market in mind, to be widely recognized and achieve success."

Director Na, who directed the films 'The Chaser' (2008), 'The Yellow Sea' (2010), and 'The Wailing' (2016), said, "The sight of someone's goodwill ultimately leading to catastrophe through differences in stance can be found throughout society." He added, "I intend to capture this phenomenon in the new film." He also stated, "By reflecting the thematic consciousness in the formal aspects of the film, we plan to present a work never seen before."
Michael Fassbender, known for his roles in the Hollywood 'X-Men' series, 'Hunger' (2008), and '12 Years a Slave' (2014), and Alicia Vikander, who won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 88th Academy Awards for 'The Danish Girl,' will star in the film.
'Hope' tells the story of residents fighting against a mysterious attack that begins in the isolated harbor town of Hopohang. After an unknown entity is sighted on the outskirts of the town, the residents search for its true nature, leading to a desperate struggle as the town faces the threat of destruction. Korean actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon will appear, with cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo behind the camera.
