Korean Air Hopes to Host Busan World Expo... "Engaging in Support Activities"
Korean Air announced on the 30th that it is sparing no effort in providing various support for the successful bid of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The World Expo, known as the Olympics of economy and culture, is an international event that introduces the advanced civilizations of participating countries and shares prospects for the future and development of humanity. In past World Expos, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the telephone, television, and elevator were unveiled to the world for the first time.
The 2030 World Expo, for which Busan is competing to host, will have its final host city decided by the end of this year through an on-site inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) evaluation team and a selection vote among candidate cities.
As Korea's representative national airline, Korean Air is carrying out various support activities to ensure Busan's successful bid for the World Expo. Korean Air is assisting with reservations and transportation to facilitate convenient air travel for the BIE evaluation team visiting Korea this April.
Additionally, Korean Air is screening promotional videos for Busan's World Expo bid on its in-flight entertainment system (AVOD) and at the Incheon Airport lounge. Furthermore, Korean Air is publishing articles introducing the bid activities in its in-flight magazine, Morning Calm, striving to inform Korean Air passengers of the necessity of Busan hosting the World Expo.
